About Niko

Seven winters of guiding, turned into your trip.

I've spent the last seven years working as a guide around Lapland by taking guests out under the northern lights, on huskies, into the forest, and quietly learning which places are genuinely worth your time and which ones aren't.

Most trips to Lapland are sold from a template. I do the opposite. I plan one trip at a time, by hand, around the people travelling. That means fewer guests, real answers, and a trip that actually fits you.

Why people book with me

  • Local knowledge you can actually trust
  • Calm, organised planning — no spreadsheet chaos
  • Less generic, more real Lapland
  • One person to talk to from start to finish

How it works

A simple, considered way to plan.

Four calm steps from your first idea to landing in Lapland — nothing rushed, nothing left to guess.

  1. 01

    Share your idea

Tell us what kind of Lapland trip you have in mind, including dates, group size, and what matters most to you.

  2. 02

    We design your trip

We'll recommend either Aarni Planning or Aarni Full Journey based on how much support you want.

  3. 03

    We create your trip

After the planning fee is paid, we design your itinerary and, if needed, handle key bookings for you.

  4. 04

    Confirm and go

Once you approve the plan, we confirm the final details and the remaining balance is handled before departure.

We always aim to recommend the best-value options for your dates and preferences. Final prices depend on season, availability, and chosen comfort level.

Destinations

Across Finnish Lapland.

Every region feels different. These are popular places but if you have somewhere else in mind, just ask.

Snowy riverside view of Rovaniemi in winter twilight

Rovaniemi

The natural starting point for Lapland. Easy to reach, surrounded by river, forest and good day trips — a comfortable base for families.

Open snow-covered fells above Levi village

Kittilä / Levi

Open fells and quiet trails just beyond the village. Great snow conditions, plenty of activities, and proper space to breathe.

Northern lights glowing over Saariselkä's wilderness

Saariselkä

Further north, into Urho Kekkonen National Park. Some of the best skies in Finland for Northern Lights and very few crowds.

Frozen Lake Inari at dusk with a Sámi landscape backdrop

Inari

Sámi homeland on the shore of a vast frozen lake. Slow, wild, deeply atmospheric — the most remote feeling option on offer.

Old spruce forest blanketed in deep snow in Salla, eastern Lapland

Salla

"In the middle of nowhere" — and proud of it. Quiet eastern Lapland, old spruce forests, gentle fells and some of the most reliable snow in Finland.

Wide winter view from the Ylläs fell over western Lapland

Ylläs

The highest fell in western Lapland, with two calm villages at its foot. Long cross-country trails, wide views and a softer, less commercial feel than its bigger neighbours.

FAQ

Common questions, honestly answered.

Anything else? Send it through the inquiry form and I'll reply personally.

  • No, I don't book flights directly for you, but I can help you choose the best flight options so they fit your Lapland vacation the best.
  • Fully. Nothing is taken from a packaged catalogue. We start with a short call, I ask the right questions, and the trip is built from there. Everything from activities, accommodation and all.
  • Not at all. About half of my guests are couples or small groups of friends. Each trip is shaped around who is travelling and how you want it to feel.
  • For the winter season (November–March), three to six months ahead is comfortable. Good accommodation in Lapland books out early. I can still help with shorter notice, just send a message.
  • Yes, that's most of what I do. I'll suggest options based on your group, budget and the kind of atmosphere you're after, and explain honestly what each place is actually like.
